About Me

I'm an IT Professional based out of Calgary, AB. After getting a degree in Computer Science from a local university and spending a few years in various tech roles (things like corporate application monitoring, database development, non-profit site management, robotic process automation), I now work as a freelance front-end and accessibility developer.

I value doing tech work that makes a positive impact and helps others while striving to continually grow and improve my skills.

Experience So Far

Bachelor of Science in Computer Science

University of Calgary • September 2016

Started 5-year program (4 years of study, 1 work experience) at the University of Calgary. During this time, I participated in coding competitions/hackathons and volunteered at a local non-profit to help with community initiatives such as food banks, blood drives and holiday gift programs.

DevOps & Application Monitoring Co-op

Canadian Tire Corporation • Sep 2019 - Apr 2020

Completed a student internship on the CTC DevOps & Application Monitoring IT team. My main work here consisted of tracking/reporting key application monitoring data to related teams and company stakeholders using New Relic and Sumo Logic. Also handled access tickets to company software using ServiceNow, Jira and Confluence and created an internal company tool used to automate team onloading on SaaS platforms (took the project from concept and planning to completion)

Community Engagement & Frontend Developer

Muslim Association of Canada • May 2020 - Sep 2021

Operated and handled responsibilities of both Community Engagemment Coordinator and additional frontend development work. I helped run community events (most notably, EidFest and EMAAN), coordinate volunteer teams and help process applications for student awards program. Also used programming skills to help assist and support frontend changes in the organization's website transformation initiatives/projects.

Graduated and obtained a BSc in Computer Science with an overall GPA of 3.4. Throughout my studies, I took courses about topics such as programming (Java, C, Python, ARM Assembly, Haskell, Prolog), data structures & algorithms, programming paradigms, operating systems, advanced programming techniques, etc.

Was hired into the company's New Grad program and (after completing internal company training) worked on an ecommerce platform product team as a developer and tester. Mainly helped with API testing and development and improving/developing internal tool documentation.

Contract - RPA Developer

CPKC • Sep 2024 - Dec 2024

Working on the Robotic Process Automating (RPA) team, I provided support for Lazaro Port document processing by training machine learning models to extract and validate shipment data using ABBYY Vantage, JavaScript and Blue Prism. Helped coordinate and facilitate daily meetings with Lazaro Port Coordinators and gathered requirements on RPA tool improvement and future required updates.

Contract - Database Developer

CPKC • Jan 2025 - Apr 2025

Assisted the Subject Area Database (SADB) team by investigating and solving issues with legacy .NET applications and resolving application bugs arising from differences in server environments. Also developed internal tool that cleaned up data fed to other applications to reduce effort and time spent using older business processes.

I do data annotation contract work to help train state-of-the-art machine learning models. Additionally, I develop frontend and accessibility-based IT tools.

Diagnosed and resolved critical .NET server deployment issues, improving uptime and stability for production systems and improving customer service experience of said systems.
